Why Chapel Themes?
Monthly chapel themes were implemented into The Bowery Mission's chapel almost three years ago. They came from wondering how effective 91 different chapel services are to the same homeless man who comes to the mission everyday. Since there are many presenters of the Gospel, many different services, many different styles, many different denominational backgrounds - how effective are these services?
Themes bring continuity to all the 91 services during the month.
A sign located above the stage in the chapel is made each month with the new chapel theme, it is located on the ministry team website and a list of past themes is attached to the website as well.
As a part of the Ministry Team, I urge you to use these themes as part of your message.
Themes are general statments that will attract the eyes and hearts of the community, as well as being Biblically based.
Themes are created to help you in preparation for the service.
If you're ever wondering..."What should I preach on tonight?" Well, check out the theme of the month and ask the Lord to direct you as you continue the flow of the month with the theme of the month.
